Little "LOUD" Dylan
Last week I brought this little guy to the dr for his 4th/6th month old jab & Rotavirus dose(while he's turning 8months in a few days time). This fellow screamed his head off and cried so loudly that I could not hear the nurse/doctor talking to me after the scream. Yes, there were 2 jabs, left and right thighs before the sweet Rotavirus medic was dripped down his throat. It was silence for awhile before he continued screaming again. I remembered it was almost 15min before he calmed down, sniffing away angrily at me! Poor kid.
Apart from the jab, he's doing well. The GP clinic didn't have the kiddo weighing machine so they used a digital weighing machine to measure the absolute weight from the delta of mine+his weight together. Well, the reading was close to a 10kg, just 0.1kg short of that. So he's 9.9kg (abt 97% percentile), 71cm in height (abt 90% percentile) and head measuring at 46cm (abt 90% percentile).
Recently he has started fruits and vege puree in school. At home, I'm stuck to cereals for dinner or fruits as they are most convenient. Today I tried avocado and it works wonder. He loved it and had half of it. I scraped off the fruit and fed directly to him. He's trying on his stubby little fingers on finger food i.e. stars. He is still trying very hard to stuff the little star into his mouth. When he gets impatient, he would grunt and let out a loud sigh and whine. I need to get him to practice more often on his fine motor skills.
Today, he has another surprise for us. I left him in the playpen while mum and I were getting dinner ready. The next moment I peeped into the room, he was standing up holding the edge of the playpen! He must have knelt on his knees (which I saw him doing that past few days), and managed to propped himself (probably by shaking) to hold on the edge of the playpen. His eyes barely reach the edge of the playpen. So well done to little Dylan! Hooray!
